PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the focusing accuracy in autofocus control.SOLUTION: An imaging device 100 includes: a region setting unit 123 for setting two or more regions in an imaging screen; a VF (Value of Focus) value generation unit 42 for generating contrast signal values for the regions; an AF evaluation value generation unit 121 for adding the contrast signal values of the regions whose luminance signal values satisfy a predetermined range, and outputting the result of the addition as an AF evaluation value; and a focus position control unit 122 for controlling a focus lens position in a direction in which the AF evaluation value becomes the maximum.
