PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinder and a grinding method capable of making the roundness highly accurate in retraction grinding.SOLUTION: There is performed a forward movement grinding, in which an abrasive wheel 15 is relatively moved forward to a workpiece Wa, and, subsequently of the forward movement grinding, there is performed a backward movement grinding, in which the abrasive wheel 15 is relatively moved backward from the workpiece Wa. The depression quantity &egr;b(&thetas;) of the workpiece Wa in the retraction grinding according to the phase (&thetas;) of the workpiece Wa is estimated, and the retraction grinding is performed on the basis of the depression quantity &egr;b(&thetas;) in the estimated retraction grinding. |
