PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery system which enables simple and easy charge control, and a charge control method arranged by use of such a secondary battery system.SOLUTION: A secondary battery system comprises: a secondary battery unit 1 including a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 3 opposed to the positive electrode 2, and an electrolytic solution 5 containing an electrolyte and a redox shuttle compound; a concentration sensor 6 for sensing the concentration of the redox shuttle compound in the electrolytic solution 5; an electrolyte regulator 7 for regulating the concentration of the electrolyte in the electrolytic solution 5; and a control unit 8 which lowers the concentration of the electrolyte by use of the electrolyte regulator 7 when the concentration of the redox shuttle compound below a predetermined concentration is sensed by the concentration sensor 6, and which increases the concentration of the electrolyte by use of the electrolyte regulator 7 when the concentration of the redox shuttle compound over the predetermined concentration is sensed. |
