PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-weight knitted or woven fabric suitable for clothing use and material use, in which the knitted or woven fabric has good cloth grade, good quality, light weight and high bulkiness and is excellent in heat-retaining property while keeping modified cross-sectional shape of each single fiber as it is even when physical pressure is applied to the knitted or woven fabric in such processes as: false twisting process, twisting process, knitting or weaving process and dyeing process.SOLUTION: A knitted or woven fabric includes 30 mass% or more of multifilament yarns composed of at least 3 kinds of fibers having a modified cross-sectional shape such as roughly "C" shape, roughly "U" shape and roughly "V" shape, in which the single fiber having the modified cross-sectional shape has one groove extending along in a longitudinal direction of the fiber surface, mixed therein. The light-weight knitted or woven fabric has a bulkiness index of 1.2 or more and a heat-retaining index per basis weight of 1.2 or more. |
