PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light-emitting element which is excellent in extraction efficiency of light emitted from a luminescent layer and which has a structure enabling a mother board on which semiconductor layers, electrodes and the like are formed to be divided into semiconductor light-emitting elements with high efficiency.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light-emitting element comprises: a substrate; and a first conductivity type semiconductor layer, a luminescent layer and a second conductivity type semiconductor layer which are sequentially provided on a first surface of the substrate. The substrate is formed to transmit light emitted by the luminescent layer and has a second surface located on the side opposite to the first surface, which has an irregular region. The irregular region is provided on the second surface and includes two or more kinds of convex members having sizes or outer shapes different from each other, or includes two or more kinds of regions where a plurality of convex members provided on the second surface have number densities different from each other. |
