PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly accurately adjust a gap between an inductive radio cable and an antenna even while increasing or decreasing a speed of a mobile unit.SOLUTION: An automatic adjustment apparatus for a gap between an inductive radio cable and an antenna comprises: a range finder 4 for measuring a gap between an inductive radio cable 2 and an antenna 1; an actuator 3 for antenna drive which moves the antenna 1; an actuator 5 for range finder drive which moves the range finder 4 in a direction of travel of a mobile unit or inversely; and a control device 6 which controls the gap between the inductive radio cable 2 and the antenna 1 within a predetermined range by moving the antenna 1 by driving the actuator 3 for antenna drive on the basis of a measurement of the range finder 4 and controls a position of the range finder 4 by driving the actuator 5 for range finder drive while considering a working time of the actuator 3 for antenna drive in the case where a speed change occurs in the mobile unit.
