<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle control device, method and program capable of controlling a vehicle by surely detecting an obstacle.SOLUTION: A vehicle control device having an on-vehicle external world sensing part 2 for detecting a target on the basis of a feature of an external world of a vehicle and an operation part 31 for operating the vehicle, includes: a determination part 28 for determining a first operation mode when an operation is not performed on the operation part, or determining a second operation mode that is different from the first operation mode when an operation is performed on the operation part; and a control part 5 for determining, when the determination part determines that the operation mode is the second operation mode, an obstacle on the basis of the target output by the on-vehicle external world sensing part 2 in a period of time shorter than the case of determining that the operation mode is the first operation mode, and controlling the vehicle in accordance with the determined obstacle.</p> |
