<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of keeping initial heat exchange efficiency over a long period of time, delaying frosting on fins during heating operation, and also reducing defrosting operation time by forming a coating layer that exhibits antifouling performance and frosting inhibition effect on a surface of a fin material of an outdoor heat exchanger.SOLUTION: An air conditioner including an outdoor heat exchanger, comprises a supply device supplying a hydrophilic treatment agent containing aqueous antifouling coating medium or a frosting inhibition agent to a surface of the heat exchanger from above the heat exchanger; and control means having a mechanism of forming a hydrophilic coating film on a surface of a fin and actuating the hydrophilic coating film at predetermined timing. The air conditioner can thereby keep antifouling performance and hydrophilicity for a long period of time and reduce energy loss by improved efficiency of a defrosting operation.</p> |
