<p>The present invention relates to a safety shut-off device for a fuse cock that can prevent an accident caused by gas leakage by automatically shutting off a gas pipe when the gas pipe is separated from the fuse cock. A safety shut-off device installed between a gas pipe and a fuse cock to shut off leakage of gas includes a hollow body having opened upper and lower portions and a locking plate with a passage penetrating a center, the locking plate protruding inwardly from the inner surface, in which the upper portion is engaged to an end of the gas pipe, and the lower portion is engaged to an end of the fuse cock; an opening/closing member placed in the body to be able to move up and down to open or close the passage and thus control a flow of gas; and at least one spring member having an upper end which comes into contact with the locking plate, and a lower end which is supported by one side of the opening/closing member, and being strained when the opening/closing member moves upwardly. When the fuse cock and the body are engaged to each other, the end of the fuse cock presses the opening/closing member upwardly, and the spring member is strained to allow the gas to flow. When the fuse cock is separated, the passage is closed by the opening/closing member to shut off the flow of the gas.</p> |
