Provided are an apparatus and method for preventing the collision of a chip mounter. The apparatus for preventing the collision of the chip mounter according to one embodiment of the present invention includes a flux supply module which supplies flux in which the chip picked up by a mounter head is dipped and a vertical driving module which vertically moves the flux supply module to prevent the collision against the mounter head.
