PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a radio for use in a vehicle from being tuned to a frequency having bad signal quality.SOLUTION: A method for detecting cochannel interference in radio, includes the steps of: sampling a radio frequency; performing signal quality measurement on the sampled frequency at least one time; determining whether or not there is cochannel interference in the sampled frequency on the basis of the signal quality measurement which is performed at least one time; and if it is determined that there is no cochannel interference in the sampled frequency, selecting the sampled frequency as an operation frequency for a tuner.
