PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film that can improve the appearance of a display screen in observation with respect to a normal line of the display screen from an oblique direction, a transfer body for an optical film, and an image display device.SOLUTION: An optical film 3 has, laminated in order, an optical function layer of a linear polarization plate 5, a retardation layer 9 for a 1/2 wavelength plate that provides transmitted light with a phase difference of 1/2 wavelength, a retardation layer 8 for a 1/4 wavelength plate that provides transmitted light with a phase difference of 1/4 wavelength, and a positive C-plate 17 that has the in-plane refractive index smaller than the refractive index in the thickness direction, where the positive C-plate 17 has a retardation Rth in the thickness direction satisfying -140 nm≤Rth≤-40 nm. |
