[Problem] To provide a mammographic lesion detection system which is capable of reducing false positive rates, a mammographic lesion detection method, a mammographic lesion detection program, and a computer-readable recording medium having the mammographic lesion detection program recorded thereon. [Solution] A normal architecture model for a mammary gland spread in a fan shape from the nipple to the greater pectoral muscle in a mammogram is obtained by means of a model calculating means (22). A Gabor filter is used by an orientation extracting means (23) on the mammogram to extract the orientation of the linear structure forming the shape of shadows in the image. A lesion determining means (24) compares the orientation of the mammary gland in the normal architecture model from the model calculating means (22) and the orientation from the orientation extracting means (23) for regions of interest which include mammary gland architectural distortion candidates detected by a preprocessing means (21), obtains a feature quantity based on the difference therebetween, and determines whether or not there are architectural distortions on the basis of the feature quantity. |
