A flexible tube for allowing the passage of a fluid or a solid, the flexible tube being formed by winding a wire material in a helical formation. The flexible tube is characterized in that the cross-sectional shape in the direction in which a fluid or a solid is allowed to pass is an ellipsoidal shape, thereby lessening the loss of the properties of the flexible tube in relation to twisting in the wire material winding direction or the reverse direction thereof.
