Embodiments of the present invention disclose a recovery method and apparatus for a safety controller (SC), and relate to the field of communications, so as to improve network stability. The method provided in the embodiment of the present invention comprises: a primary node specifying a node where a backup SC belongs, where the primary node comprises an original DM or a backup DM; the primary node sending a message indicating the backup SC to a first node, where the message indicating the backup SC comprises an identifier of the node where the backup SC belongs; and in a case where a node where an original SC belongs is disconnected, the primary node sending a message of starting an SC function to the first node, so that the first node performs authentication to the node where the backup SC belongs according to the message of starting the SC function, where the message of starting the SC function comprises the identifier of the node where the backup SC belongs. |
