<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent that gives a liquid crystal alignment layer capable of improving various characteristics required for a liquid crystal display element.SOLUTION: A polymer obtained by using, as monomers, a compound (A) of a polyvalent carboxylic acid, a polyvalent carboxylic acid anhydride or the like and an amine compound (B) comprising a compound expressed by formula (1) shown below, is incorporated into in a liquid crystal aligning agent. In the formula, Rrepresents a divalent organic group; Zrepresents a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group having 5 to 7 ring members and having -NH- in a carbon-carbon bond in a cyclic skeleton of an aliphatic ring, where a hydrogen atom may be substituted to be bonded to a carbon atom of the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; Zrepresents a primary amino group, a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group having 5 to 7 ring members and having -NH- in a carbon-carbon bond in a cyclic skeleton of an aliphatic ring, or the like.</p> |
