摘要 <p>According to one embodiment of the present invention, a test sample layer can be easily detected by analyzing intensity signals of two polarization beams having a p polarized beam and an s polarized beam, which are split, and passing the test sample layer formed on an optical fiber. To this end, according to the embodiment of the present invention, an optical sensing apparatus/environment monitoring apparatus based on surface plasmon resonance includes: a light source part to irradiate light; an optical fiber unit having a surface plasmon resonance part formed by sequentially stacking a metallic layer and a test sample layer on an outer portion of a core as cladding is removed from a portion of the optical fiber, the irradiated light being incident to one end and output through an opposite end through internal total reflection; a polarization beam splitting unit provided at the opposite end of the optical fiber to split the output light into the p polarized beam and the s polarized beam after the output light passes through a 1/2 wavelength phase delay rotatable plate; an optical detection unit to detect the p polarized beam and the s polarized beam and to output a p polarization intensity signal and an s polarization intensity signal corresponding to the p polarized beam and the s polarized beam, respectively; and a test sample detection unit to receive at least one of the p polarization intensity signal and the s polarization intensity signal and to detect the test sample layer based on the received p polarization intensity signal or the received s polarization intensity signal generated due to a birefringence change resulting from the surface plasmon resonance condition of the test sample layer. The optical fiber is multi-mode optical fiber. The metallic layer is formed as a double layer of silver (Ag) and aluminum (Al). Ag and Al are asymmetrically laminated on the outer portion of the core.</p>
