摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conductive electrode active material in which a substrate is coated with diamond in a sufficiently high degree of adhesion and which is excellent in electrolysis characteristics and a method of recovering useful resource materials using the conductive electrode active material, especially a magnesium recovery method with power consumption and environmental load suppressed.SOLUTION: A conductive electrode active material includes basic concave parts composed of irregularities of a several-hundred-μm order on the surface of a substrate and minute concave parts composed of irregularities of a several-ten-μm order, and the surface of the substrate is coated with diamond crystals formed in the basic concave parts and the minute concave parts. Especially, when the conductive electrode active material is used in molten salt electrolysis as an electrode for molten salt electrolysis, metal magnesium can be recovered efficiently from magnesium chloride.
