The purpose of the invention is to provide a fuel cell sealing structure capable of preventing or avoiding the base (31) of a gasket (3) from rising due to compressive stress on a seal projected rim (32) of the gasket (3) in the process of stacking and assembling separators (1, 2) and being bitten between the separators (1, 2). In order to achieve this purpose, the gasket (3) has the base (31) fitted into a seal mounting groove (11) of the separator (1) without being adhesively bonded and the seal projected rim (32) closely attached to a seal groove (21) of the separator (2). Pressing projections (22) and clearance grooves (23) are formed on both width-direction sides of the seal groove (21), said pressing projections (22) being attached to the base (31) of the gasket (3), said clearance grooves (23) being positioned on the opposite sides of the seal groove (21) when viewing from the pressing projections (22). The sum (Wa) of the widths of the seal groove (21) and the pressing projections (22) on both sides thereof is smaller than the width (W11) of the seal mounting groove (11), and the sum (Wb) of the widths of the seal groove (21), the pressing projections (22) on both sides thereof, and the clearance grooves (23) is larger than the width (W11) of the seal mounting groove (11). |
