Provided is a living organism sensor capable of improving the S/N ratio of a finally obtained photoplethysmographic signal even if a noise component such as extraneous light varies. A living organism sensor (1) is provided with: a drive signal generation unit (97) which generates a pulsed drive signal; a light-emitting element (10) which emits light in response to the generated drive signal; a light-receiving unit (5) comprising a light-receiving element (20) which outputs a detection signal corresponding to the intensity of received light and amplification unit (30) which amplifies the detection signal outputted from the light-receiving element (20); a filter unit (50) which removes a pulse wave component from the detection signal outputted from the light-receiving unit (5) to acquire a baseline signal; and a differential amplification unit (70) which takes a difference between the detection signal outputted from the light-receiving unit (5) and the baseline signal acquired by the filter unit (50) and amplifies the difference. |
