PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional protective material for a carton to protect a content without covering by a pair of inner covers of the carton from damage due to a cutter when the butting portion of a pair of adhered outer covers in the carton housing a medical material and equipment is unpacked using a cutter.SOLUTION: A protective material 1 for a medical material and equipment comprises: a top surface 11 having almost the same length as that between edges of a pair of inner covers 22a and 22b of a carton 2 in a same direction; and a pair of flaps 12a and 12b which are disposed at at least one of both sides facing the top surface 11 and folded downward.
