PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for folding a cloth piece in which the driving speed of a folding plate can be adjusted, so that a cloth piece can be accurately folded.SOLUTION: An apparatus for folding a cloth piece includes: a conveyor 12 for conveying a cloth piece Y; a folding device 32 for folding the cloth piece Y; and a control device 50 for controlling the operation of the folding device 32. The folding device 32 includes: a folding plate 32a; and an actuator 32d which causes the folding plate 32a to advance and retreat, and which allows controlling the operation speed thereof. The control device 50 controls the operation speed of the actuator 32d according to the conveyance speed of the conveyor 12, thereby adjusting the driving speed of the folding plate 32a. As a result of adjusting the driving speed of the folding plate 32a by the control device 50, the conveyance speed of the conveyor 12 synchronizes with the driving speed of the folding plate 32a, enabling the cloth piece Y to be folded at a suitable folding position, so that the cloth piece Y can be accurately folded. |
