PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device and electronic equipment, in which display qualities can be improved.SOLUTION: An element substrate 10 includes a pixel electrode 27 disposed in a display region E and a first peripheral electrode 41 disposed between the display region E and a sealing material 14 in a plan view. A counter substrate 20 includes a counter electrode 31 disposed in the display region E, to which a common potential is applied, and a second peripheral electrode 42 disposed to oppose to the first peripheral electrode 41, to which a common potential is applied. At least one of the first peripheral electrode 41 and the second peripheral electrode 42 is disposed on a protrusion formed of an insulating layer. A distance from the surface of the first peripheral electrode 41 to the surface of the second peripheral electrode is shorter than a distance from the surface of the pixel electrode 27 to the surface of the counter electrode 31; and the first peripheral electrode 41 is spaced from the second peripheral electrode 42. |
