PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid enlargement of a light switch for protection even when a transmission capacity of a device is large.SOLUTION: A sending side optical transmission device 1 comprises: a wavelength multiplex part 104 for wavelength-multiplexing signal light identical to plural signal lights inputted to an N-multiplex transponder 102; a single M:1 light switch 105 for selecting one of wavelength multiplex lights by the wavelength multiplex part 104 and outputting it; and a wavelength separation part 106 for wavelength-separating the wavelength multiplex light outputted by the M:1 light switch 105 into plural signal lights, and outputting them to the N-multiplex transponder 107. A receiving side optical transmission device 2 comprises: a wavelength multiplex part 204 for wavelength-multiplexing the plural signal lights separated by the N-multiplex transponder 203; a single 1:M light switch 205 for selecting an output destination of the wavelength multiplex light by the wavelength multiplex part 204, and outputting the light; and a wavelength separation part 206 for wavelength-separating the wavelength multiplex light outputted by the 1:M light switch 205 into plural signal lights. |
