PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic compound which has excellent hole injection and transportation performance and electron inhibiting ability, has high stability in a thin film state and excellent characteristics regarding to heat resistance and amorphous property, as a material for an organic electroluminescence element with high efficiency and high durability, and to provide an organic electroluminescence element having high emission efficiency and high durability using the above compound.SOLUTION: The compound has a benzothienoacridan ring structure or a benzofuroacridan ring structure expressed by general formula (1). The organic electroluminescence element has at least one organic layer interposed between a pair of electrodes, in which the above compound is used as a constituent material of the at least one organic layer.
