<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an aromatic carbonic ester without requiring a multistage process.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an aromatic carbonic ester by reacting an aromatic hydroxy compound represented by the formula (2) and carbon dioxide in the presence of a solid catalyst and 2-cyanopyridine or 2-cyanopyrazine: (in the formula (2), R is selected from a substituted or unsubstituted straight-chain aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted branched aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted cyclic aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 3 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic group having 6 to 10 carbon atoms and a hetero atom-containing group; n represents an integer of 0 to 5.] The solid catalyst is cerium oxide and the temperature during the reaction is 110 to 150°C.</p> |
