Provided is a ball joint with which a third mechanical element can be pivotally connected to the vicinity of a pivot center of a first and second mechanical element that are pivotally connected to one another, wherein the ball joint comprises the following: a ball stud (1) that has a shaft member (11) to which a first mechanical element (80) is connected and that has a ball section (10) at a distal end of the shaft member (11); a holder (2) that has a fixing section to which a second mechanical element (81) is connected, is molded by casting for which the ball section (10) is the core, covers a maximum diameter section of the ball section, and pivotally couples the first mechanical element and the second mechanical element with the ball section serving as a pivot center; and a pivot support shaft (5) that projects from the holder (2) in a direction intersecting with the shaft member (11) of the ball stud (1), forms a second pivot center different from the ball section (10) to become a connecting section of a third mechanical element (82), and is integrated with the holder when the holder (2) is cast. |
