PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that can uniformly heat a fixing belt, accelerate energy saving, and reduce the first print time; and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A fixing device includes a fixing belt 21, a heater 23, a pressure roller 22 that applies pressure to the fixing belt 21 on the outer peripheral side, a nip forming member 24 that is arranged opposite to the pressure roller 22 on the inner peripheral side of the fixing belt 21 to form a nip part N, and a heating area changing member 29 that is arranged between the fixing belt 21 and heater 23 and movably provided to change the size of a heating area heating the fixing belt 21, where the heating area changing member 29 is configured to move to a heating area maximum position increasing the size of the heating area to the maximum from when the heater 23 starts heating the fixing belt 21 until when a recording sheet S starts passing through the nip part N, so that the heating area maximum position is a position outside an area where the heater 23 directly heats the heating area changing member 29. |
