PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a compact arrangement of a gripper and a drive unit.SOLUTION: A gripper for electric wires or optical circuits 24 and 24', e.g. wires, cables, bundle wires or optical fibers has two gripper jaws 22 and 22' which are mutually movable relative to a facing bearing part by using a driving mechanism. In a stranding head 4 of a stranding device for the wires 24 and 24', such a gripper is normally mounted. In a gripper, and thus in the stranding head 4 and the stranding device, a driving mechanism provided with at least one driving unit 17 capable of adjusting a force is provided, and the driving unit 17 acts on the individual gripper jaws 22 and 22' through link chains 15, 19, 19', 20 and 20'. The link chains 15, 19, 19', 20 and 20' are in parallel with the driving unit 17, but the parts 19 and 19' are also movable in the opposite movement direction. |
