The invention relates to a protection and rescue device. Said device comprises a plurality of expandable elements and a cover (30) connected to the expandable elements, said cover having at least one sealable opening. In an initial state the expandable elements are in a non-expanded state and can be brought into an expanded state by activating a release. In the expanded state, the expandable elements stretch out the cover (30) such that said cover surrounds a chamber (K) filled with ambient air, said air flowing through the sealable opening. In order to reduce the weight of the protection and rescue device, in their expanded state at least some sections of the expandable elements run through the chamber (K), such that an inner skeleton is formed which stretches out the corner points of the cover (30). |
