PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine for allowing adequate collection of energy from exhaust gas while actualizing the adjustment of an exhaust pressure.SOLUTION: A diesel engine 1 includes a turbo generator 9 having a turbine 9a provided in an exhaust passage 5 of the diesel engine 1 for collecting energy from exhaust gas, and an ECU 2 for controlling the turbo generator 9. The ECU 2 changes the rotating load of the turbine 9a to adjust an exhaust pressure in the exhaust passage 5. The diesel engine 1 allows adequate collection of energy from the exhaust gas while actualizing the adjustment of the exhaust pressure. |
