PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal receiver in which a ceramic honeycomb hardly cracks or falls due to repeated application of thermal stress.SOLUTION: The thermal receiver includes a light-receiving heat collector 1 in which: a plurality of ceramic honeycombs 2 are arranged in such a way that cells 20 being heat medium gas passages are arranged in parallel; and an end face of each ceramic honeycomb 2 constitutes a light receiving surface, and the thermal receiver is configured in such a way that heat medium gas is heated by solar heat collected in each ceramic honeycomb 2 in a process in which the heat medium gas passes through the cell 20 of each ceramic honeycomb 2 from a light receiving surface a side and flows to an anti-light receiving surface b side. In the thermal receiver, an equivalent diameter D of each ceramic honeycomb 2 defined by D=4M/P (M is area of light receiving surface a of the ceramic honeycomb 2, and P is peripheral length of light receiving surface a of the ceramic honeycomb 2) is 100 mm to 150 mm, and a shape ratio R of each ceramic honeycomb 2 defined by R=D (D is equivalent diameter, and Z is distance between light receiving surface a of the ceramic honeycomb 2 and the anti-light receiving surface b) is 1.0 to 1.5. |
