<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an HMGB1 and an anti-HMGB1 antibody for a prognosis of a neurological disorder.SOLUTION: Th present invention relates to an in-vitro method for quantifying an antibody specific to a high mobility group box I(HMGB1) contained in a sample obtained from a patient, in particular, a serum sample or a cerebrospinal fluid sample, and relates to a use of the method in a prognosis of a neurological disorder and/or a diagnosis thereof. Particularly, for monitoring the prognosis and/or the diagnosis of a human being immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection of an object known to be infected with the HIV, these methods can be applied to the prognosis and/or the diagnosis of a progressive status of an acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) or a progressive status to the AIDS, in particular, the prognosis and/or the diagnosis of the progressive status of the neurological disorder related to the AIDS or the progressive status to the neurological disorder related to the AIDS. Finally, the present invention relates to a method for determining a level of immunodeficiency of a patient, in particular, a patient infected with the HIV or immunity activation thereof.</p> |
