摘要 The invention described herein generally pertains to a system for and methods of promoting droplet transfer by generating a negative polarity welding output current waveform (1020-1040) to control a welding process. An electric arc welding system generates an electric welding waveform (1000) with portions (1020-1040) in a negative polarity. A cycle of the electric welding waveform (1000) includes a background current phase (1010), a short clearing ramp phase (1020) after the background current phase (1010), a peak current phase (1030), and a tail-out current phase (1040) of the electric welding waveform (1000), wherein the peak current phase (1030) provides a negative peak current level, the tail-out current phase (1040) provides a monotonically increasing tail-out current level toward the positive background current level (1010), and the short clearing ramp phase (1020) provides a decreasing current level in a positive polarity of current for the electric welding waveform (1000).
