摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positional accuracy of a roller relative to a lift cam in an axial direction by decreasing the number of components interposed between a spiral groove and the roller.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine variable valve mechanism includes: a first spiral groove 34 moving toward one side L in an axial direction as the first spiral groove 34 moves forward in an opposite direction to a rotational direction of a camshaft 8; a second spiral groove 36 moving toward the other side R in the axial direction as the second spiral groove 36 moves forward in the opposite direction to the rotational direction; and a link arm 40. When rotating toward one side P, the link arm 40 is engaged with the first spiral groove 34 and displaces together with a roller 26 toward one side L in the axial direction with respect to lift cams 10 and 15 and a rocker arm main body 21. When rotating toward Q, the link arm 40 is engaged with the second spiral groove 36 and displaces together with the roller 26 toward the other side R in the axial direction with respect to the lift cam 10 and the rocker arm main body 21. This enables the roller 26 to displace to a first position at which the roller 26 contacts the lift cam 10 and a second position at which the roller 26 does not contact the lift cam 10 without via the rocker arm main body 21.
