Devices, systems, and methods for facilitating access to the pancreaticobiliary system are disclosed. In particular, the present disclosure relates to devices used to apply suction to the papilla, e.g., duodenal tissue surrounding the papilla, to facilitate cannulation to reach the bile duct and/or pancreatic duct. Devices may include a suction cup or an endoscope cap configured to apply suction to a tissue surface.

1. A medical device comprising:
a tube having a proximal end, a distal end, and at least one channel extending therebetween, the at least one channel in communication with a side aperture at the distal end of the tube; and a cap disposed on the distal end of the tube, the cap including an opening in communication with the aperture and an expandable appendage disposed around the opening, wherein the appendage is configured to form a seal with a tissue surface.
