<p>In a transmission control process performed by a vehicle-mounted communication device in a primary vehicle, the reception strength of an incoming signal transmitted by a communication counterparty, namely another vehicle-mounted communication device, is detected. If and only if said reception strength falls below a preset first strength threshold ("YES" at S130), a wireless information signal containing vehicle-status information that indicates the current status of the primary vehicle is transmitted (S140) via a medium-range wireless communication unit. That is, the lower the reception strength of the incoming transmitted signal, the larger the distance between the primary vehicle and the other vehicle, and when said distance is large, the current status of the other vehicle can be conveyed to the driver of the primary vehicle.</p> |
