<p>The present invention relates to a flat panel display, which can reduce power consumption, and a method for driving the same. The flat panel display comprises: a display panel which defines a plurality of pixels by crossing a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines; a gate driver which is embedded in a non-display region of the display panel to drive the gate lines; a data driver which drives the data lines; and a timing controller which controls the gate driver and the data driver and controls the gate driver to selectively drive the gate lines based on an aspect ratio of inputted image data.</p> |
