This (2, 4)-threshold information dispersal system generates first and second reference vectors having a size of (d + m)/2, which comprises d information blocks constituting original data and m random numbers as components; uses a coefficient matrix comprising eight previously prepared elements to generate four blocks of dispersed information by performing an XOR operation according to combinations of the first and second reference vectors and the coefficient matrix, and an OR operation (i.e., an XOR operation) between vectors comprising the operation results; and enables the original data to be restored based on any two blocks of dispersed information among the four blocks of dispersed information that were generated. Thus, the size of the dispersed information is reduced, availability with double faults and confidentiality due to randomization of all fragments of dispersed information are improved, and the performance centered on XOR operations is improved. |
