A computing unit for computing the physical quantity includes the functions of: generating an XOR signal Sof both pulse signals Sand S; measuring a pulse period Tof the A-phase pulse signal using a first reference clock signal; measuring a pulse width Tof an L side of the XOR signal using a second reference clock signal; and calculating the physical quantity using a pulse width ratio T/T.
