An emergency reporting system equipped with a seatbelt detection unit (41), a velocity change detection unit (42), an injury assessment unit (S120, S140), and an emergency reporting unit (S150). In a situation wherein a collision prevention process has been executed to prevent a vehicle collision, thereby stopping the vehicle, the seatbelt detection unit (41) detects whether a seatbelt is being worn by a vehicle passenger. The velocity change detection unit (42) detects the change in the vehicle velocity from the time the collision prevention process has been executed to the time the vehicle stops. The injury assessment unit (S120, S140) assesses the injury level of the passenger on the basis of the detection results from the seatbelt detection unit (41) and the velocity change detection unit (42). The emergency reporting unit (S150) transmits, to a prescribed reporting destination, an emergency report on the injury level of the passengers as assessed by the injury assessment unit (S120, S140). By means of this emergency reporting system the injury level of a passenger when a vehicle collision has been avoided can be assessed and reported appropriately. |
