Provided is a carbon nanotube sheet which can avoid the water repellent effect even when the carbon nanotubes are vertically oriented. This carbon nanotube sheet (S1, S2, S3) is characterized by comprising vertically oriented carbon nanotube groups (C) and by being made into a layer shape in a state in which the top and bottom end portions of said carbon nanotube groups (C) collapse and the middle portions are intertwined. In this carbon nanotube sheet (S1, S2, S3), because the top and bottom ends of the carbon nanotube groups (C) are in a collapsed state, the water repellent effect is suppressed compared to the case of the top and bottom ends being completely straight; in other words, the wettability is improved. Further, because the middle portions of the carbon nanotube groups (C) are in an entangled state, a carbon nanotube sheet (S1, S2, S3) is obtained in which the occupancy ratio of the carbon nanotubes (C) per unit volume is greatly increased. |
