Macromers comprising pendant polyoxazoline groups

The invention is directed to a macromere comprising unit derived from a solixane diol, di-isocyantes and a diol comrpsing a pendent poly alkyl oxazoline group. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of said macromers, and to that the use of said macromers. The amcromers according to the invention may be used in ophthalmic lenses. Films comprising the macromers according to the invention provide a surprisingly low modulus in combination with a high water content.
