A printed matter for preventing a forgery and a method of verifying a forgery thereof are disclosed. The printed matter for preventing a forgery of the present invention includes a security pattern and a plurality of disguise patterns which are printed while overlapping the security pattern, wherein the security pattern has a reproducing recognition part and a non-reproducing recognition part, the disguise pattern has a deceptive part and a background part, which have mutually different halftone concentrations, a sum of halftone concentrations of the deceptive parts of the disguise patterns is at least 20% and less than or equal to 30%, and a sum of halftone concentrations of the background parts of the disguise patterns is at least 40% and less than or equal to 50%. The printed matter according to the present invention is printed with patterns, in which a recognition part of the security pattern is difficult to separate and verify even by a naked eye and the recognition part is not identifiable even by printing or scanning.
