<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarization element stretchable in a wide temperature range, excellent in polarization and scattering. <P>SOLUTION: Provided is a polarization element composed of a stretching sheet, where the sheet is molded from a mixture of melted polycarbonate resin, a first transparent resin and a second transparent resin, and uniaxially stretched so that a dispersion phase including a dispersion phase A composed of the first transparent resin is dispersed in particles in a continuous phase composed of the polycarbonate resin, and the continuous phase and/or the dispersion phase contain the second transparent resin. In the polarization element, the absolute value of refractive index difference between the stretching direction of the continuous phase and the direction perpendicular to the stretching direction is less than 0.05, and the absolute value of refractive index difference between the stretching direction of the dispersed phase A and the direction perpendicular to the stretching direction is 0.05 or more. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
