PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress breakage of a crawler-type traveling body due to biting of earth and sand or the like while suppressing an increase in cost. SOLUTION: A work machine, which includes each crawler-type traveling body having a crawler wound around a side frame, includes: each support roller or each support plate provided on top of the side frame in order to support the crawler wound around; a detecting means for detecting acting force generated by the tension of the crawler as pressing force to each support roller or each support plate; an abnormal-tension detecting means for determining whether or not the crawler is abnormally tensioned on the basis of the acting force detected by the detecting means; and a signal output means for outputting an abnormal-tension signal indicating that the crawler is abnormally tensioned if the abnormal-tension detecting means determines that the crawler is abnormally tensioned.
