<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a booster which is extremely smaller than a conventional charge-pump booster, has no such slide part as a brush, uses only two switches, has a simple structure that can gain a predetermined large boosting ratio with little chronological change, and can be used as an inexpensive amplifier or power source that can respond quickly with a large signal noise ratio (S/N). <P>SOLUTION: The booster includes: a variable capacity capacitor having a pair of movable electrodes at least one of which can reciprocate/vibrate; and mechanical switches S<SB>1</SB>and switch S<SB>2</SB>. The movable electrodes or conductive electrodes of the variable capacity capacitor are made to be common electrodes for the switch S<SB>1</SB>and switch S<SB>2</SB>; the movable electrodes are formed of cantilevers or movable pectinate electrodes. When the power source to be boosted is charged via the switch S<SB>1</SB>in the state of the predetermined capacity value C1 of the variable capacity capacitor being large, the movable electrodes are moved, and the variable capacity capacitor becomes a predetermined small capacity value C2, the boosted voltage can be taken out as a charge pump via the switch S<SB>2</SB>, or further via a buffer circuit, a reverse flow preventive diode, or an output capacitor in need. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
