<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new adjuvant that enhances a sensitizing effect particularly in a DNA immunization method, and a method for immunizing an animal using the adjuvant. <P>SOLUTION: The adjuvant comprises a needle crystal (preferably a needle crystal containing a needle single crystal) of an inorganic compound.
