<p>The invention relates to a stay for a toilet lid or seat to secure the lid or seat in the open position. The stay may be used on boats, water-going vessels, recreation vehicles, campervans or motor vehicles or trailers equipped with toilets. The stay comprises a first part mounted remote from the lid or seat, and a second part adapted to be secured to at least the seat or lid of the lavatory. The first and second parts are capable of forming a connection to prevent movement of the seat or lid. The first part 1 may be mounted on a means of transport 1000, and the second part 2 to the lid or seat of the lavatory 200. The first and second parts may be connected by a leash (3 figure 2) wound about a bobbin (5 figure 2) in a resiliently deformable housing (4 figure 2). The bobbin is mounted on a bar (7 figure 2) through which the leash passes for securement to a coiled spring (8 figure 2). The housing is fixed to a base (9 figure 2) which is in turn attached via an adhesive sheet (10 figure 2) to a mount mechanism (11 figure 2) i.e. a suction cup. The stay may comprise a hook and loop portion, magnets or a catch.</p> |
