PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toll collection system capable of handling cash-based vehicles and ETC-based vehicles together. SOLUTION: The toll collection system includes a plurality of vehicle detection devices which detect vehicles entering and exiting from a lane; a start control device which opens and closes the lane; a roadside radio device which transmits and receives radio waves; a vehicle type discrimination device which discriminates types of vehicles entering the lane; an automatic toll collection device which processes cash payment by a user; a lane totaling processing device which includes toll tables by vehicle types for cash payment; a control device which includes a plurality of tables for calculating a toll of an ETC vehicle, and controls the vehicle detection device, the starting control device, the roadside radio device, the vehicle type discrimination device, the automatic toll collection device, and the lane processing device; and an IC card reader connected to the control device.
